Core Movement Integration Training Institute

Each 10-hour seminar has been approved by the Delaware Boards of Occupational Therapy and PT and Athletic Trainers for 10 CE credits.
Check with your own state for reciprocity.

BEGINNING IN SEPTEMBER 2026

This course is offered to all health care therapists and body-related practitioners as an adjunct method for your practice.

The Core Movement Integration (CMI) Practitioner Program consists of five live courses via Zoom. Each course consists of 10 credit hours of class time, instruction in the CMI Six Pathways and their applications, group practice, and peer learning classess.

The CMI Practitioner Program will facilitate changes in your body, yielding fluidity, comfort and efficiency of movement throughout your work and daily life. Students are strongly encouraged to participate with their instructors and fellow students to integrate the Pathways into their own body awareness and sense of movement. As you develop CMI skills, you incorporate these new tools into your professional practice, with clear results for your clients or students.

Course 1 – Foundations of Core Movement Integration (10 Hours)

Course Description

Core Movement Integration (CMI) is a whole-body movement and manual therapy approach developed by Josef DellaGrotte, PhD, Guild Certified Feldenkrais® Trainer and Guild Certified Feldenkrais Practitioner (CM). The method integrates principles from neuroscience, biomechanics, and fascia science to support efficient movement and neuromuscular coordination.

This course introduces the six Core Movement Pathways, which describe how force is transmitted through the body during functional movement. Instruction emphasizes movement awareness, motor control, and application to everyday activities.

Participants engage in guided movement exploration and learn to recognize patterns of movement organization in multiple positions, including supine, sitting, standing, and side-lying.

Learning Objectives

Upon completion, participants will be able to:

  1. Identify the six Core Movement Pathways
  2. Demonstrate Pathways in multiple positions
  3. Apply foundational principles of connect, lengthen, flow, and uplift
  4. Recognize basic movement patterns and compensations
  5. Apply movement strategies to improve functional activities

Course 2 – Dynamic Core Stabilization (10 Hours)

Course Description

This course focuses on dynamic stabilization through integration of the pelvis, abdominal system, and rib cage. Emphasis is placed on coordinating stability and mobility during functional movement.

Participants explore movement organization in positions such as bridging, quadruped, and walking. Instruction includes guided movement, observation, and application to activities requiring weight transfer and postural control.

Each course builds upon Core Movement Integration concepts to support improved coordination and movement efficiency.

Learning Objectives

Upon completion, participants will be able to:

  1. Apply CMI principles to dynamic stabilization
  2. Improve coordination of pelvis and trunk during movement
  3. Facilitate efficient weight transfer
  4. Enhance gait-related movement patterns
  5. Apply movement strategies to functional tasks

Course 3 – Head, Neck, and Shoulder Integration (10 Hours)

Course Description

This course explores integration of the head, neck, ribs, and shoulder girdle within whole-body movement. Emphasis is placed on the relationship between breathing, spinal mobility, and upper extremity function.

Participants engage in guided movement and application of Core Movement Integration principles to improve coordination and movement efficiency.

Each course builds upon previously introduced concepts to support functional application in clinical and movement-based settings.

Learning Objectives

Upon completion, participants will be able to:

  1. Apply CMI principles to head, neck, and shoulder coordination
  2. Improve rib and cervical mobility
  3. Facilitate efficient upper extremity movement
  4. Integrate breathing with movement strategies
  5. Apply concepts to functional reaching and lifting activities

Course 4 – Lower Body Integration (10 Hours)

Course Description

This course focuses on integration of the pelvis, hips, legs, and feet within whole-body movement patterns. Instruction emphasizes assessment and application of movement strategies to improve lower extremity function.

Participants explore gait-related movement, weight distribution, and coordination through guided movement and functional application.

Each course builds upon Core Movement Integration principles to support improved mobility and stability.

Learning Objectives

Upon completion, participants will be able to:

  1. Apply CMI principles to lower extremity movement
  2. Improve hip and knee coordination
  3. Enhance foot and gait mechanics
  4. Facilitate efficient weight-bearing strategies
  5. Apply movement strategies to functional mobility tasks

Course 5 – Application of Core Movement Integration (10 Hours)

Course Description

This course emphasizes application of Core Movement Integration principles through movement assessment, clinical reasoning, and functional integration.

Participants apply previously introduced concepts to movement analysis, treatment planning, and guided instruction. Instruction includes supervised practice, case discussion, and application to functional activities.

Each course builds upon Core Movement Integration concepts to support integration into professional practice.

Learning Objectives

Upon completion, participants will be able to:

  1. Apply CMI principles to movement assessment
  2. Develop movement-based intervention strategies
  3. Facilitate functional movement integration
  4. Apply clinical reasoning to movement patterns
  5. Incorporate CMI concepts into professional practice within scope

Students are required to attend all Zoom courses in person. Video recordings of each class will be available for additional study. Should a student miss an in-person class, the video recording may be used to make up the missed class. To receive credit for any classes not attended in person, the student must view the recorded class video and submit a written report describing the material learned, its applications and any questions about the material.

Please Note:

    • Practitioners who already have a working knowledge of the CMI basic pathways may take seminar 2 with prior approval by the primary course instructors. Contact the instructors via email at Info@CoreMovementIntegration.com.

    • You can receive the Early Bird discount by signing up two weeks prior for each seminar you wish to take.
